Tranny help

Hey guys so i got the courage and ripped the tranny out to do the clutch on my 03. everything went perfect till the part w/ removing the TOB. i couldn't get it off and that ment with out getting it off the trans couldn't come off so i unbolted the flywheel and that allowed the trans to come off and the Clutch is still in the tranny w/ the TOB in it. i tried to get it off and it won't come out...anyone have any PROVEN methods to remove the TOB. I think the ring on the clutch is worn into the TOB imo. Please if u have any pointers help me out...i'm desprate to get this done.

Two flathead screwdrivers through two of the inspection holes on opposite sides will work. Good luck.

I had that problem, I rotated the clutch by turning the bolt at the crank pulley to get at it from another angle. Popped off first try after that. But since you already have it apart, just turn it by hand and keep getting it from different angles. You'll get it eventually...

I had the same issue. No matter what the TOB would not release from the retaining ring. Had to actually cut it off the pressure plate. The TOB was already completely ruined and wasn't releasing and destroyed my Cusco Twin in the process. Seems the dealership reused the same factory TOB during my Cusco Twin install.

Now with my Exedy Twin HD and new TOB everything is butter smooth.

I'd say keep at it, it's a little tricky until you see how exactly it works. Practice on your new clutch with a new TOB it should release without any effort at all really. Just make sure your clutch fork is pushed all the way to the drivers side when you try to release the bearing. Howfully yours isn't as bad as mine was. It didnt spin/release at all. Worse case senario, you'll have to get creative.
