driving without a cam cover?

mines been off over a month now. it'll be fine. but when ever you can, get the sucker back on. im buying a carbon fiber one on friday to finally get it covered. not in the mood to dremel down the stock one

Why are people talking about the valve cover? Are people not able to read?

Don't do it! I did that on my previous car(Eclipse gst) and something got caught in the cams. Once something gets pulled into the cams its already too late in most cases.

umm, because the original poster said CAM COVER. the only cover over the cams is the valve cover.

He has a 35R equipped EVO plus other goodies, I think he's got enough common sense to not try to drive around with the valve cover off.

how did something get in your cams from driving with the cam gear cover off?

There is no way in hell you can ride around without a valve cover, what keeps the oil from spraying out, you will also loose oil pressure, no way....

what are the chances of something large or strong enough getting into a cam gear tooth and screwing everything?.....i mean if all the covers are on except for the cam gear cover you should be fine.......its not like we run with our hoods off .....

i dont go off roading and rain shouldnt be a problem
