RnR (Daily Driver) HITS THE DYNO!!!!

Guys, we finally got my daily driven Evo on the dyno. Most of you who have been around a while know this was the 1st ever 2.4 EVO in the US. We have been delayed tuning our current set-up because our Tuner that worked for our shop Darwin stopped tuning cars a while back.

Anyway we have been working with Alfred from TT and we are really happy with his EMS tuning abilities. We took the car up there yesterday to use his dyno and have him do some magic on the EMS.

After a very short period of time we have the running on wastegate spring 22PSI. I couldn't believe at 22psi we were making

609whp at only 27psi

At this power level the car was still barely tuned and had a ton more left in it at this boost level. So I thought great we can easily make 750whp at 38psi, but I was wrong. At only 22psi the 1000cc injectors were completely maxed out. I am sure the duty cycle is well over 100% and we couldn't physically add anymore fuel into the AEM fuel map.

So we are going back to TT this week with our new AEM injector driver and 1600cc injectors. We plan on running 38psi and making close to 750whp in our daily driven street car. Here is a short list of mods on our car.

With the proper injector driver, the 1000cc injectors would likely have sufficed.

Sounds good i like the numbers.

But i got a ? so you got the Aeromotive 1000HP Fuel Pump, Aero Regulator
-10 AN Feed line, -8AN Return Line, AN Fittings at all locations . How did you max out at 22psi is it because of the high load the motor can take or displacement. Could you explane a lil more why you hit the wall i thought 1000cc where enough for a 37R.

Sorry for the dumb ?

We thought 1000's would be enough too. There just wasn't anymore room in the software to add fuel. We could play with adding fuel pressure, but it still won't be enough for 750whp.

Now i see why you need the injector driver box. Well besides trying to get your car to idel right. 1000cc to 1600cc its like night and day its crazy.

I know we had some downloading issues with the camera. We are working on getting them up as soon as we have some free time.

Hey Ryan,

Can you post a dyno chart? I would like to see the curve with a 2.4 & a 37R. Also do you have some of the AEM logs you could post?

I am sure a bunch of guys would love to see at what RPM you are achieveing full boost by with the set-up.

Thanks-Big Boost

1000cc injectors shouldn't run static until the engine is delivering around 850bhp. The reason why this isn't happening appears to be the AEM injector/driver mismatch, that most likely causes the injectors to open very slowly (not enough current), which effectively reduces the *effective* injector capacity.

I might suggest running the car again with the low impedance injector driver pack installed and denoting the difference in injector duty vs. AFR. Chances are you'll see the AFR go suddenly rich with no other changes to the present map.

Ya, that could be very true. I thought for sure we would have enough injector for 700whp. I know once the 1600's go in we could run into some driveability issues.

I'd be willing to bet that you'll be fine with the injector driver pack. It would be interesting to see the difference it makes (useful info for every EMS user), and you may not need concern yourself with the huge 1600s after all.
