But they forgot to check all the hoses and the tiny hose that goes into the fuel regulator was loose (This I learned from Al, always use zip ties) the hose poped and the car melted the 4th piston, sad day, but had nothing to do with the tuning unlike some people intend to say. Thats why you take your EVO to people that work with EVO's and people like Al who double checks everything before going to a race track.
It can happen. HOWEVER, there is never an excuse for not having a wideband in the car while racing that will tell you when something like that goes wrong.

whoah... theres alot more to tuning then the power numbers. lets see the dyno, boost, and a/f plots. I could care less if you can get more power out of my car then Al. I would rather have a more reliable tune.

No-one said he could make more power than Al.
Al has not even tuned an EVO 9 in PR, I think you guys need to read a bit.

Wasn't there a BORLA sponsored car reflashed by Gadiel that blew up on the first pass down the track? My contacts in PR said they saw this. How you can blow up an Evo on the first pass with an ECU reflash is beyond me.
My car is sponsored by Borla and did not blew up, Thanks to mark of turbo trix and Luis that installed the exhaust cam and initial reflash, the guys of Ultimate racing for some parts and the last reflashes (the distance lints us from using turbotrix or anyother).

Note: I hope sincerly that Al and Mark can return to PR this year and use the resources of carrito.net, it is always a pleasure having them here, BUT it is also a privilage having a Tuner of such caliber as Gadiel in PR, saying that this guy is good does not take away from merits of either mark or Al as they are not only vendors in carrito.net they are friends to a lot of people here on the island, and I insist, I am looking foward to have you guys in PR in the near future.

Yes! I have to lower the size of some banners on the intro, but try going directly into the forum http://carrito.net/board/ it is in spanish, but you will understand WHP, TQ, LB and things like that. the Mitsubihi/EVO forum:

Melted piston is considered a blown motor in my book, unless of course you will continue to race the car on a melted piston. Otherwise the motor is considered "blown".

TTP Engineering.
Its funny that you talk like you know everything that happen on the Borla car.
The true is that this car is broken because for some reason the boost reference line to the fuel pressure regulator was loose and not attached to the fuel pressure regulator. By the way I have photos to proof this.
When I reflash this car this car the mod were catback, header and the car was on stock boost.
Later the owner of the car install a Blitaz boost controller, cat delete, downpipe and who know what else.
Apparentlly when the mechanic of the car was testing the boost controller or maybe working on the car the boost reference line for the fuel pressure regulator was not attached to them.
As you know there no way that this car survive a 26+psi ( I see the peak on the memory of the boost controller) pass with out the correct fuel pressure.
You talk about a wide band inside the car. Thats a good recomendation to the owner of the car, not me specially when I was not that day at the dragstrip.
If you want to see the photo let me know to send you an email and that way you could make your own conclusions.

Hello Al and Mark both of you know that I respect your work. Keep the good work.

By the way I am just another ex subaru owner that join the Evo world.

I hope to see all of you this year at Englishtown again.

By the way back to the topic this post is about carrito.net car and the progress on this car, not Borla PR project car.

Yup, no one said you were at fault. Glad the "truth" came out. The problem is one guy says "yes it blew". Another guy said "no its not blown" and now you confirm the motor is blown.

I think we understand what happened now. Why some claim the motor is not blown is just stupid. It has been made clear that it was not the tune.
