For close to stock you can choose between Exedy Stage 1, RRE no name clutch, or ACT HDSS (of course). All are a good upgrade from stock without going broke. The Exedy is probably the most conservative choice, while the ACT is more aggressive. Here is probably the largest poll on EVO clutches:

Hey all,
I have the mods listed below in the sig, stock clutch.
haven't launched her on the mods - only when she was stock and this is how I did it.
hold her on the 5500rpm limiter, foot flat, let the clutch out half way, don't dump it, (almost as fast as I could pull my foot off the clutch) hold it there for about 1/2 a second, then let it out the rest of the way.
I did 3 or 4 consecutive launches like this with no clutch smell, stock car.
Now with the supporting mods below will the standard clutch handle this or will it slip once I get off the clutch completely?
Running about 270 -275whp. (never had it on a dyno)

If you have less than 300WHP and you aren't launching at every stoplight the stocker is fine.
I have about 20 stutterbox launches and 20-30 lapping days on my stocker and it holds just fine.
BTW using the stutterbox with stock clutch and restrictor pill in place you and simply dump the clutch and call it a day.

By stutterbox you mean the mitsu launch rev limiter?
I still have the stock clutch line too, so the restricter is still there.
I tried to dump the clutch (when it was stock) and the car launched about 10 yards, then bogged, besides it made a horrible bang in the rear diff.

For all intents and purposes, the RRE clutch seems to act the same way the ACT clutches do. Difficulty shifting over 7500-8000 rpm, master cyclinder rod adjustment required, etc. I liked the fact that it looked stock, but when it comes down to it I refuse to let the dealer work on the car, and anything that breaks, I end up wanting to upgrade, so it's not much good in my case.
