Help On Bov ...
Hey Guys I Just Went To Devo Tunings and they installed a Custom UICp and i have the Gt35RL turbo and i have the whole list of supporting mods except the EMS b.c they didnt make it yet for the evo 9
My Question is i have a Greddy Type RS and Devo said venting to the atmosphere is fine and i drove it and it felt fine no stalls no nothing....
so is this safe or do i need a Tial BOV or sumthing like that??

I have done no real empirical testing, however, in my personal experience on my own Evo, and other local Evo's we have worked on, atmospheric blow-off valves (of ANY manufacture) on an Evo using some form of the stock ECU for engine management, will make the car run soo rich as to you will lose roughly 40 miles of fuel economy per full tank of fuel.
My recomendation to ANYONE is that either your engine management can be optimized for the use of an atmospheric blow-off valve or it can't. (The stock ECU CANNOT)
Use a valve most appropriate for your setup.
(If you plan to use an AEM or some other type of standalone engine management, an atmospheric valve can be used without problem, but if you will be using the stock ECU in any way/shape/form, stick with using a recirculatiing valve. The "cool" blow-off valve sound is not worth the negative fuel economy. [to me anyway])
