New intake question

I searched through 20 pages of intake stuff and did not seem to find anything concerning what I am about to ask.

I want to know if any testing has been done with the KN 2G eclipse or the 3000GT intakes vs the new round cone filter EVO8 and up filters?

KN made these filters oval shaped because they supposedly did not disrupt the airflow into the MAF and allowed it to read air properly. I have noticed that many threads with intakes say they have to be properly tuned or they won't make a huge difference but these all seem to be round filters.

I brought back a KN panel filter from the states but the EVO 2 I purchased already has 6 inch intake filter and adapter on it similar to the RMR one. The filter looks like it hasn't been cleaned in 2 yrs and I am trying to source a new one. My only concern is that with my car being a 1994 that maybe the oval style filter from the 2G eclipse or the 3000GT would be a better replacement.

Have any of the tuners ever tested this stuff? If so can someone point me to that tuner and I will run a search for it.

By the lack of response are you guys telling me that no one has used the 2G Eclipse KN filter/adapter or the 3000GT filter and adapter on their EVO?

The main issue here is that the air intake inlet on the second gen DSM and the 3000 GT are oval to start with. The Evo air intake/MAF shape is different

I do have a Stealth R/T and I happen to have the oval air filter on it. The issue is not the filter itself, the issue is that the MAF is not shape the same way(oval) as the 3000 GT or 2nd gen.

Give me a few seconds and I will take a pic of the stuff for you.

I was going to put on my 2g adapter with K&N, but that oval cone filter was too big, so I got a shorter rounder one, and now it fits snug in there.

By the way, there are many other differnt air filters for the 3000gt and the Eclipse 2nd gen, you are just talking about the oval model, I also have the drop in filter panel for the 3000 VR4/Stealth R/T.

Particulary speaking the 3000 vr4/Stealth can be fitted with a GM LS1 MAF sensor located on the upper intercooler plastic pipe giving you the choice of installing dual smaller cone K&N filters.

Working on bringing you the pics as we speak..(I took a pic of a friends Stealth R/T and dual K&n 3 weeks ago...)
