Simple question: negative terminal cable gauge thickness, anyone?

Anyone know if the negative cable is 4 awg or 6 awg? Hard for me to tell.

I need to buy a butt splice connector and stretch it out farther...

Please advise!

Thanks!

I believe 6. I'm using 4 and it's thicker than stock, so my guess is 6.

i would say at least 6 to 8... i have 4 running thru my bay for my grounding system and its larger. are you looking to replace this and dont want to get the same size ? generally everyone uses 4 or a 0 to the battery... up to you.

Ok - here is what I am doing. I am swapping terminal locations - putting =ve closer to the firewall and -ve closer to the headlight. I have a nisei mini battery kit.

The negative cable is grounded to the firewall with a 10mm bolt. From there, it goes to the battery. Do we need to maintain this ground point. If we need to, I will extend it. Else, I may not need to do so.

Please advise!
