Speed Element's DIY FR install phase 2

Continuation of phase 1 originally here.

DP fitting before welding

Dp SS bracket pre welding

Welded bracket

Here's what it looks like all together

Some upclose pics

Here's the whole deal right here.

Found out it is best to assemble the turbo manifold and misc accessories as an assembly and bolt it on to the motor like that. The key is taking the radiator out, hanging the assembly on the studs, and the putting the radiator back in tilting the assembly for clearance. Then put the fasteners on and finally tightening everything up.

wastegate clearance

Compressor and WG clearance

Here is my driver side ic pipe the GM AIT is located closer to the intercooler to prevent sensor heatsoak.

Here's all the intercooler pipes, they are designed to be short as possible.

Installed in the car from a distance. Closer pics tomorrow! Dyno tuning phase 3 next week.

Beside the FR manifold, and the AMS intercooler everything was fabbed here at Speed Element. Thanks for looking.

hey, what is the green thing on the turbo? is that an intake filter that's custom made to be there? or just a cover?

it's a custom made intake filter, behind it is a reinforced aluminum screen to prevent the filter material from being sucked in.

Its not needed. One of my friends has been running this setup on his car for the past year and has never had a problem. remember the engine doesn't move back and forth, it rotates on an axis, that is as close as it ever gets. i've driven the car aggressively already and it does not make contact.
