Which is a better location for wideband 02 sensor? Pics provided
OK, I am getting ready to have a bung welded in my downpipe for a wideband 02 sensor.
I will be purchasing the zietronix setup (from TTP) in the near future.
Per my searches on here, I found 2 common locations for bungs, see pics below.
I have a DC cat-delete downpipe, hence it looks longer. I will re-locate the stock 02 sensor from the cat to my greddy exhaust, it should reach it from the way the wire looks underneath. If I am wrong, please let me know.
Pic A is just before the 2nd bend. The con is that it could be closer to the tie-bar or oil pan and a riskier location as far as fit goes. Easy to replace sensors, though.
Pic B is where the cat about ends. The con with this location is that its placed on the top and is harder to replace. Also, it seems that the sensor may not get as hot and have longer life (per a post from someone from AEM)
Also, a search said that there is a grommet that pops out and allows line to be fed into the passengers side of the car by the kick panel near center console. I assume its there with the IX as well and I plan on using it (I will look underneath tomorrow, completely forgot today). Please correct me if I am wrong
I am curious where other wideband users have their bungs and may have tried both locations and seen any major differences in readings.
Any advice is appreciated!
Thanks!
