exhaust question

hey just got this big problem that is stalling me in buying an exhaust. i want to get a full tb exhaust. its just that i dont want it really super loud (like people can hear me 5 blocks away) and i dont want a quiet one either. on top of that i would like to have the maximum amount of performance with this mod... i been looking at the Tanabe and the perrin and also the turbo xs. better of the three??? and another thing, would adding a turbo outlet pipe better my peformance with a TBE in any way. i will be gettin the vishnu ecutek flash along with the exhaust and will be running on a dynodynamics dyno..... im open to any suggestions on this matter

Yes, the o2 housing makes more power. Please research. There's a whole thread comparing 3 o2 housings. Probably shouldn't refer to it as a turbo outlet, since that is really the small pipe that comes off the compressor side of the turbo.

You're just being ridiculous with this whole exhaust thing. You want it powerful, but not loud, but not quiet...wtf. The 3 exhausts you've chosen are not at the top of any lists either, so keep that in mind - not sure where you came up with those.

BR TBE, of course, and to make good power without being loud, you choose the Magnaflow muffler. To make max power with the most weight savings, y ou choose the Bullet muffler. Other good exhausts are made by AMS, APS, etc. The BR coated SS o2 housing seems to be the best o2 housing choice, too.

one more thing regarding this, is the o2 simulator really necessary if running a catless exhaust. will the engine light come on for all types of catless pipes or does it not matter what kind of exhaust you got. just wondering so i can order it all together

Yes, you need it. If you get the Buschur TBE, it comes with one...

Take a look at the Invidia N1 or G200 also. They also have an 02 housing which is cast with a support bracket.

The best flowing exhausts are the loudest. I dont know the laws in your area but if emissions laws require you to have a cat, just get a highflow cat. If not, get a test pipe and you will throw a code in time. The ECU checks 02 before and after the cat and there should be a difference, if there isn't, which there wont be with atest pipe, it will think the cat isn't working, so it will throw a code. I have an AMS TBE for the reason that I plan on going with their turbo kit and they include DPs to fit their exhausts only. I like it, Its kinda loud but it sounds great IMO. Average pricing too.
