You'll get your boost back without some retard changing your ECU.

Also I don't think that the IX is more problematic than any other EVO models, it's just that there seem to be so many new and fresh faces buying IXs, unlike VIIIs that were bought a lot by former DSMers and others with experience with turbo and AWD cars. This does not seem to be the case with the IX. Just look at some of the questions being asked by new IX owners, I mean somebody asked why there is a bigger space inbetween 70 and 75 mph in speedo, WTF!

i had a problem with my VIII only boosting 12psi (which is wastegate spring pressure) and tried everything on earth (except a new ecu) to figure out the problem and nothing ever worked. I had MINIMAL mods (Works flash and samco hoses with a Blitz DCII turbo timer/boost guage). I finally "solved"/band-aided the problem by throwing an MBC on and cranking it down to 1.4bar.
