Stage II OBX Camshafts
hi all
i bought a pair of stage II obx camshafts,
i'm getting them installed over the weekend with some manley springs and retainers.
the guys installing the cams, etc asked if there's any info on what to set the vernier pulleys to? - i've no idea?
anyone installed the OBX cams before, any tips?
Cheers

he doesn't have an evo 9, he has an evo 4 and is in the UK! do you know for sure that OBX doesn't make evo 4 cams, because i'm not. sorry i don't have an answer for the main question, just clearing some things up for the other readers. there probrably aren't many people on this forum familiar with an evo 4 or it's aftermarket parts installs.

However, I'd honestly stick with the HKS, two reasons, first you dont have to ponder the thought of installing upgraded valvesprings, and second, they have a proven track record over many years.. I've heard that some of the other brand grinds make more power, but I haven't seen any engines with alot of mileage on them yet so I don't know how durable they are, or how much wear they put on the valvetrain or if they contact the valve seals due to increased lift.
plus HKS does have a part number listed for the 7 head, though I'm fairly certain their the same part number as the 8.. And fairly certain that its the same cam series for all the 4G63t evo engines with the same orientation (not the older 4g63 engine style from the Evo3, galant VR4, DSM, etc..)

Oh, and if the guy is asking about vernier pulley, find someone else with experience doing cams on an EVO.. But if you have no other choice, print out the instructions from www.evomoto.com and have him follow those..

what HKS cams would you recommend, 272 or 280's?
will be tracking my car sometime this year but mainly its used just for b-road blasts and maybe the odd 1/4 mile and used in traffic as well , but not used to and from work.
any advice as i'm getting cams installed this weekend and my contact can get me pretty much whatever i ask for
