Can you tell me the prices in your countries ?
Hi everbody, I live in Switzerland, Europe.
We are 3 friends, Evo VII owners (and lovers), to have the same problem : when it's hot outside (30°C, 86°F), the 3 lights come on...
MUT II says "pump failure".
I made some tries, in fact the max pressure is down to 11-12 bar, and should be at 16 or more.
After some researchs, here is what I've found :
Here in Switzerland the pump is sold at 4'500 CHF, about 3600$, 2000 GBP, 3000 Euros...
I've foud a new one at www.japancars.com, exactly half the price, all included (port, insurance, customs, ...) !!!
Jeller, how much did your pump cost, do you know it ?
Other people, do you know the price of the pump ?

I did the job and now it's OK.
At this time 3 other friends had the same problem, each time the pump was k.o.
So, already 4 pumps bought by japanparts... any other source ???

UPDATE:
First pump was replaced by the dealer last year. After alot of argument with what is wrong, they finally replaced the pump after all. Warranty billing shows $1800 with labor. Everything was fine, till this am.
UPDATE AGAIN:
ALL 3 lights on agian, 1 year later and the pump is doing it again. Back to the dealer I go..... I will update when I get some answers.
Any Idea why this happens everytime I do a track day?

It could be interesting to check the ACD oil temperature when you are on a track...
Now I'm scary to go back to track
For you question, why it does happen when you're on a track, perhaps it's the outer temperature... When it's cold, the oil is more fluid, the pressure is harder to reach...
Who knows...

honestly i feel no pity for you.... you hit the track and you overheat the ACD somehow.... i dont know maybe you run different sized tires/wheels? maybe u set it not as tarmac but gravel/snow and beat the **** out of it? i dont know for sure but then u RETURN to the track. now u got it again? good for you, hope you sell your evo lol
