Yes, I'd say they will be fine for that as what I am working on right now is a rear rotor and it doesn't do a lot of the braking.

Any results on the fronts or idea when they might be available? Looking at the baers and giros but waiting to see about these new Buschurs before making a decision.

Thanks for all the testing Dave

Dave, I have been considerring upgrading my brakes but haven't decided if I was just going to do new rotors, pads, fluid and lines or if I was going to do a big brake kit. I was looking at the Stoptech kit but I will want remove some unsprung weight and cannot find the system weights on Stoptech's site. Do you know what kind of weight savings I can see with a big brake kit or will there be little to no difference?

Thanks for the help.

So how much did the bear rotors end up weighing? I've read all the posts, maybe I missed it.

The 335 mm Stop tech kit is 3# lighter. The Baer's are 15.8 pounds per rotor.

Also, update. The rotor that was attempting to be built failed under extremely hard braking, like in a road racing environment. They held up well on the brake dyno for what would be consider street/light race use. The results of the braking power was amazing, until they came apart.

Back to the drawing board. They are not throwing in the towel but it is going to be quite some time before anything else happens. Probably 6 months. The bottom line is these new rotors weighed about 8 pounds for the fronts in stock size!

We are working on something else in the meantime.

Would like to see the difference between the stock drive shaft and the carbon fiber drive shaft. It loss about 10 pounds of rotational mass if I'm correct.

Nothing on the rotors, at this point in time I'd say there will never be new developments on them. Sorry guys.

^ It's ok, I think it's pretty neat you dyno tested them. That 5whp is still cool.

This goes to show why you want light weight "anything that spins".

Its the same with a bike. Take for instance my RC51 front rim weighed 13 lbs and th rear weighed 19. I moved up to some PVM magnesium rims and the bike was a world of difference.

The PVM's rims I bought weight front 7.5 I think and the rear weighed in at 11.5 I think. Anyways the bike picked up faster and when getting on it and doing a wheelie she would almost flip. One of the best mods you can do to a bike is lighter rims.

So it is the same concept rotating mass is better than say removing your crash beam or another part that weighs a bunch.
