Just got off the phone with Jon @ TRE. He says that the new MR 6 speed transmission fluid, part number mz313376, is great for the 5 speeds. It's a GL-4 rated fluid that's a little thinner than the old stuff for the 5 speeds. Nice that we now have an option to buy a proper transmission fluid from Mitsubishi without having to purchase a 5 gallon drum

Maybe I'll put that in on my next tranny oil change.
I just did mine less than 100 miles ago.

i just did my transmission, and i used mobil 1 75W90... i can tell the difference big time from what was in there. the transmission shifts so much more smoothly. i suspect that it had been done fairly recently (i've only owned the car for 4 months), but the gear lube coming out was a little dirty.
my vote is full synthetic all the way, i run mobil 1 5W30 engine oil as well and the car runs suberp. i've done two oil changes since i've owned it and i wouldn't put anything less than synthetic in it.
