Best Turbo kit for stock internals and quickest spool up?
got an evo4 with an evo 7/8 engine + turbo
272/272 cams
manley springs + retainers
walbro fuel pump
850cc injectors
ECU - PowerFC D-JET
+ usual mods - downpipe, decat, cat back kakimoto exhaust
wanting a turbo that spools up ****ing quick and gives highest torque as soon as possible,
what would you guys recommend?
Matt

I agree, the IX Turbo, or a Ti/AL variant of the IX turbo is your best choice..
If you are willing to sacrifice a little spool, then the BR 20G-9 is the second best..
If your looking to make significantly better horsepower numbers at the cost of spool, then you should start looking at some of the larger turbos, but all of them spool a bit higher than stock. In reality its not "That Bad" but it does take getting used to, and if you need a car that has instant boost (Road racing, short track, that sort of thing) then stick with the stocker or something based on a stock turbo.

I wouldn't omit the HKS GT2835 from this pool of options either. It's a little on the expensive side, but it's a fantastic little turbo. I have one waiting to go into my EVO once I recoup some/all of my investment on the 2-DIN conversion I recently released.
