I was going to get 10.5 housing ported and coated, but should I wait for this new turbo (w/ improved 10.5 hotside) to come out instead? I'd hate to have to port and coat twice.

Plus id recomend making a ton more than you made 20g-9-5's because those are just so damn rare and hard to get a hold of. people will want these bad so make -many-
fantastic work dave. I'll be saving for that starting NOW.

i keep hearing about how you have to add methenol or alcohol or something for a really fast time. i am looking at trying to get solid 11 sec daily driver with nothing but pump gas and street tires. would the 20g do the trick?

Just for reference, when I had the 20G-9 on my car, I ran 11.7-11.8 @ 119.89 mph INTO A 10 MPH HEADWIND. I only went to the track once with the 20G when my clutch took a poop. While it was getting resolved by Exedy, I decided to mod the crap out of my car and upgrade the motor and tranny as well. hehehe
The mod bug is a bytch. You break one part and you replace it with 3.

that is a pretty solid 11 so this is sounding like a good option right now.

My brother, Daniel, wants to take our black car out to the track with all of our turbo upgrades we offer, including this one. Then just spend a day making passes and swapping turbos onto the car. We figure doing this we can set the record with each turbo made. Nice and light with slicks and such.

Next week I am testing yet another version which we are hoping will be the final of this stage of the turbo. It will hopefully put my car to 500 whp on our dyno on C16. This will put the traps speeds with a bolt on turbo over 130 mph.
The turbo I am running right now is laggier than the 20g-9-5 we are using/selling currently. So we are all clear, the current 20g-9-5 is no slouch. With a LOT of cars now running under 11.50's and at 120+ mph trap speeds in full weight EVO's I'd say it is a proven performer. My car ran 11.20 at 124 mph. Trent's is running 11.20 at 122 mph on pump with alky, Trevor has gone 11.2 at 121 mph, Chris went 11.3 at 120 mph. There are more but those stick in my head.
The new version is going to spool a little slower and cost a little more. What we are shooting for is a stock appearing turbo, bolts to the stock manifold/02 housing, uses stock oil and water lines and will make 500 whp on our dyno.

Oh and BTW, I wish I were still "Young" enough to be "Young grasshopper". FYI, I started modding DSM's the same time you did... Back in the days of MDSOG. AL Blaha, and myself were the only NC chapter members at that time. But I think you may have worked on a few hundred more 4G63's than I have.
Anyhow back on topic.
This is a pretty awesome turbo that should be coming available soon. It will be nice to see what times and HP that it can ultimately do. We will see.
