well, i guess do this.
drain out the stock fluid into a clean bucket and put in 2.8qt of syncromesh. do syncromesh first since its only $6.99 a quart and can be found at your local autozone store.

if the grinding persists, put back in the stock fluid. can u do the work your self? it is VERY easy and u dont need to take out the undertray.

My dealership was nice enough to do this TSB on my 03' evo over the weekend. They replaced all my synchros, pressure plate, throwout bearing, and surprisingly the clutch! What a difference it made. I no longer get the decceleration noise, clutch chatter, and my 5th gear no longer grinds.

if my gears grate while goign from 3rd to 4th.. and 5th to 4th all on high RPMS

what part numbers do i need to get to fix this problem?

You have 60,000 miles warranty on the powertrain, or 5yrs, whatever comes first. Take it in before then.

Yes, free for everything. It started out with synchros only. Then they kept messing up the install and I had to keep coming back for more free replacement parts until they got it right.
