I get the impression that he wouldn't make much use of a good suspension, though, so $900 for some Megan Coilovers might be good for him.
Yes, set of Megan Track coilovers could be shipped to him for that and completely transform the car. Problem is, that he would need more money for install/corner weight/alignment.

There are many many Evos out there with bling FMICs that don't make squat for power over an Evo with the stock FMIC. He would get far, FAR more power out of a $500 alky kit plus a $400 custom reflash.

I have seem WAY more people actually loose power through upgrading their FMIC w/ stock turbo, who end up selling them, then i have seen gain the kind of numbers you guys are talking here.
It may not be necessary, but it can be helpful. I didn't plan on buying a bigger FMIC for a while, but I came up on a good deal that I couldn't pass up. After adding the new front mount, and adjusting the a/f some, I ended up with an extra 2mph in the 1/8th on the same boost levels.

FWIW, I ran at the track with a guy who added a big FMIC with stock turbo, full exhaust, etc, at the time untuned. He literally lost .5 second and a couple of MPH from what he had run before he put it on. He had been running 12.7s stock FMIC and couldn't even break 13's that day whereas I was running 12.8 with the same setup and stock IC...

This proves nothing, but it made up my mind about it.

as for the $900: http://www.applevacations.com/specia...tedGateway=IAD
