Hey guys! This Thread is for a buddy of mine. Just got a used 03 Evo. Basic mods cams on the car, including a FLASHED ECU. I was telling him to get an upgraded fuel pump, to keep it on the safe side, but i started thinking/ What if he already has one? Is there a way we can easily check to see if he has one or not? I have a Walbro in my Evo, which i can hear slightly, but another friend has the same pump, and we cant hear his at all. any ideas?

By the way, i tried to search this, but it was hard, and returned no helpful results.

 

I've always gone of off sound, but I would change to be on the safe side, we recommend changing the pump every 30K or every "season"

Yea, it seemed like that was the only option, but we were trying to avoid that if possible.

 

Yea, so did i, until our other friends doesnt make a sound at all. Usually i hear mine when the key is on ACC, if i lean down by the back seat, i can hear mine. my buddies is a totally different story.

 

Takes about 15 minutes. Just make sure the gas is really low and you wont even make a mess.

 

Drive in until it is out of gas (1/8 tank). Take out lower rear seat (2 clips) the WB255 should be easily heard.

When you have a full tank or it is submerged it will be quite.

 

Do you have anyway of checking fuel pressure? I noticed my fuel pressure changed quite a bit from stock pump to Warlboro.

 

Yea We'll give that a whirl then. I suppose once the gas light turns on, we can check and see if we hear the tell tale whine. Hope his gas light not broken.

 

No Fuel pressure gauge on hand.
