From the pics it looks like it fits the Evo IX...did they adjust the pipe that comes off the turbo?

The LICP directly off the turbo requires modification. We had to cut the 2 welds in that pipe and rotate to get the proper fit. Not too big of a deal. The biggest obstacle is the starter as the compressor housing on the IX is larger. We removed the starter to mount the pipe and when I reinstalled the starter, the pipe was very close(not touching). We slightly dinged the pipe with a hammer to gain some clearance. We also had to snip part of the eye hook at the end of the positive cable going to the starter. This allowed me to rotate the positive starter cable to my desired position.

The core looks great but the endtanks look like they wouldn't distribute air evenly across the core.

I think your point is valid and I am sure that you will get a bias toward the bottom of the core initially. However, the air will take the path of least resistance so as the flow increases it should begin to utilize the entire core. I think most tank designs will bias a certain part of the intercooler depending on the inlet and outlet locations.

I did notice an approximate 1psi increase in boost with the installation of this intercooler. My new DEFI boost gauge allows me to record peak boost and it has definitely increased. This would make sense as the boost controller is referenced before the intercooler and a decreased pressure drop across the core would translate into a higher boost pressure at the manifold.
