My Turbo XS FMIC Review & Data
1st off, no dyno data......I dont have the money or time.
The i/c arrived in a well packaged box with 2 couplers, brackets, bolts & 8 band clamps.
Fit is ok, you need to trim the brackets / tabs on the bumper that mount to the crash beam, as they fouled the i/c on my car. you also need to trim the undertray to get it on, by the looks of it. My undertray is still in the garage.
The hardware (bolts) that came with the kit will hold up the i/c & will work, however i think they're crap / butter-bolts. There were no washers with the kit. I highly recomend getting some, as the holes in the brackets are generous in size.
seat of the pants feel, it feels like boost hits harder & slightly sooner, ecu logged data reveals -100 rpm in 2nd gear. not much boost loss in logged data. Its nowhere the same power gain as putting on a catback, but there is a gain.
I was able to calculate air density from my aem logged data using this equation: P/RT pressure(kpa/ideal gas constant = 0.287 * temp "K"
The turbo xs i/c does lower inlet temps out of the i/c. see graphs below
you can see in the 1st-4th graph, how quickly air temp rises on the oem i/c. Air temp was measured out of the i/c.
Air density was increased between 3 & 5%, so if i was making 390 hp, i should be making 405.6, figured @ a 4% gain.
I ran the car through the gears, basically a 1/4 miles run. The only differences between the 2 runs are the days, both nights were identical @19-20 C & I needed to get gas the following day, so the car is ~10 gallons heavier~70 lbs.
sorry guy's, for not having a direct comparison/same day. i have kids that sleep up above the garage & I sure as hell dont want to wake them up, whicjh means hearing the old lady complain even more.
So, the car went ~2 mph faster in top of 4th gear with the turbo xs fmic while being heavier!
was it a worthwhile mod? data suggests i got a 15hp increase via good numbers & a trust worthy calculation....although i am sure other will say differently.
Nothing earth shattering, just more data from a 3rd party.
I have loads of data, email me if you want me to send some exported data in xl format.

AWESOME!!! I have been looking at all of the information/miss-information on here for the last day or so.
Thanks for being so through in your test and actualy providing info with data to support your conclusion. I might see if I can get one and do a back to back on the dyno next weekend.
