Clutch Help!
My clutch recently gave out; i have about 26k. I took the car to the dealer where i purchased it, and found out that it would cost me 1200 to replace it. I think thats crap. He said the warranty wont cover it. I have 2 questions: Does mitsubishi cover worn out clutches?, and if not, what would be the cheapest way in handling this?

Normally a dealer wont cover a clutch, because its like your oil, regular maintance. My dealer here charges about the same.... without parts. Talk to the dealer and ask if you take it to a shop if they will void the warrantee. Here they dont and the local shops charge about 400-600. If they will void the warrantee then suck it up and get a loan. lol I am in the same boat with a few less miles though

thx this sucks i have had my car in the garage for a month it sucks not driving such a sweet car, by the way i found a site from a mitsu. dealer and there is a stock clutch for about 100. Thats pretty good but im calling just to make sure.

If you can't get them to cover it, put in an aftermarket clutch. Mitsu purposely made the clutch a weak point on the evo so people who don't know how to drive it won't destroy their tranny. Most who want to race their evo replace it ASAP.

Wow you have an EVO9 and put 26K miles already . The warranty on the clutch is 12K miles for defects in materials and workmanship. You'll have to suck it up and buy a new clutch and what you get depends on whether or not you want to keep your warranty. Stock if you want to keep your drivetrain warranty and aftermarket if you don't care anymore. I'm sure you can find other performance shops that can replace your clutch for $500ish ... The dealership is ususally too expensive.
