they were helix cam gears. a mechanic of mine had contacted gruppe-s about the situation and they offered to send a new version of cam gears. ever since then they have ignored all of his emails.
whatever though. didn't expect any better from them

Man Keel that ported head does not look to good. I have seen lots of ported heads and also have a dsm ported head by buschur and it looks nothing like that. I mean your suppose to leave the intake side rough so it can atomize but that looks like he didnt have the right bits for the job.

Where the guides are sticking throught the head.... I would grind that as well. Then run a remmer down through the guide to clean it up This is what I did on my GTi. Also you need to smoothen out the runners. It does look good however

I dont think they look that good to be honest. I hate to burst your bubble. The radius' dont match from one side of the port to the other. The flats on the lower portion of the runner are uneven. I can see the marks where a die-grinder has "bit" and then "jumped" around marring the surrounding area. The finish is extremely rough. Take it to someone else and have them clean it up some. The detail work is very poor IMO. What are those tiny holes that are evident on top of certain runners? They didnt get into the oil gallies in the upper head I hope.
