Aftermarket clutch and 2-step

how's everyone doing? i have a question regarding aftermarket clutches and 2-step. If i were to take out the pill would i "safely" be able to use 2-step with an act hd clutch? i understand how the pill slips the clutch a little, so without it and a hd clutch will i risk breaking s*it with 2-step? if that's a problem, should i just leave the pill in with the act hd? can anyone with experience plz chime in. thnx in advance for everyone's help

Removed the pill and put on a BR stainless line and my clutch is in...or out.

It will help but it will still slip, I think anyway.

When launching properly, you are not dumping the clutch, so the restrictor matters little. I saw no change in how I launched the car with it removed, and it did not feel any different at the pedal. I use a 5500 rpm two step with about 8 pounds of boost. Taking the restrictor out will however allow the clutch to engage faster when shifting, since you let up on the clutch as fast as possible in this case. It does nothing for getting the clutch pedal to the floor, contrary to popular belief. It's spring loaded and gets out of the way when the pedal is traveling in the downward direction. And indeed, I saw no difference in this area either when I removed mine, as expected.

Essentially it will not matter for launching unless you side step the clutch like an assclown, in which case you will potentially get the driveline breakage you so richly deserve.

Where have you been for the last few years? Joking - yes you can use the 2step safely. You always could before. But now you will be able to launch better.

And by safely I mean using the 2step launch technique - advance search launch and SmikeEvo. I have written how to do it more than a few times.

Not safe is just dumping it. So read up on the tech.

Icecream - youscream - weallscream...its been a long day... 2step is the factory installed code in our ECU so than when the clutch is in, and we are at 0 mph (no forward movement) the ECU will bounce at 5k when you have the clutch in and you foot all the way down on the gas. This feature is on 05s+. However the 03/04 do have this code, its just set way beyond the redline - to fix/get it, either get a flash and have it programmed back in, or get the EcuFlash software and DIY. This nifty function allows us to build up 8-11 psi of boost at the line i.e. less lag at launch.

Here is my 2step tech.

It will not slip, maybe the stock clutch, but the ACT will grab hard - well not unless you are riding it like a grandma (Insert F/F picture here...) - then your just glazing it.

When I search for 2-step, I get a bunch of threads talking about the 2-step...
