clutch slipping???

when i first get on the gas, clutch jumps about 1500 rpms then starts going. After that...it holds fine all the way to red line and if i shift after that it still holds fine. It only does that right when i get on the gas. I tried adjusting my clutch pedal 1 1/2 turns counterclockwise because my clutch grabbed so late. Is my clutch going?? i have 12,700 mi now and it started to do this at like 10,000 mi.

Thats you slipping the clutch, not the clutch slipping .. the clutch slips up top (higher rpms) not lower rpms ... if it was lower rpm's it would already be toast and wouldnt grab ...

Put your car in 5th gear, around 2500rpms. now floor it.

Youll know if your clutch is slipping. If nothing happens, you have nothing to worry about.

Thats a slipping clutch. Mine just started doing it also, but it only jumps~300-500 rpm. Turn down your boost and take it easy, i'm not sure how much longer you(we) have, but comparing your slip to mine i would say you should start saving money. Pretty crazy I only have 15k miles on my car. I learned to drive on a stick and that cars clutch lasted 187,000 miles; however that car had a whopping 100 horsepower, toyota corolla.

damn...i figured it was the clutch slipping. I just didnt understand how it holds til red line after the jump. I'm gonna trade this car in before it goes out even more. Dont really want to deal with changing the clutch...done a few on other cars and it sucked.
