Finally got a car in here yesterday. VERY VERY fast EVO8. This car had gone 11.28 at 124 mph already, it had our 20g-9-5 on it. So the power was already there. Basic "generic" Stage 4 car, what I mean by generic is not all OUR Stage 4 parts but the same outline. Stock engine, head, intake, throttle body, mild cams etc. The car previously put down 364 whp at 31 psi of boost on 110 octane and alky.

At 25 psi on 93 octane and alky I was able to make 361 whp with the car yesterday. That is quite good, incase I need to point that out.

The car is a reflash and I did tune it, all I had to do was touch up the AFR's from the turbo swap. The tune that was in it was done by Al and was spot on so it was pretty easy for me.

Today it gets dyno'd at 31 psi again on race gas like before.

On pump/alky before it made 340hp/308 torque. With this turbo it made 361 hp/317 torque.

Race gas numbers today.
Damn Sweet , Good job.

With the LT vs the 9-5 we know the LT yields roughly a 20whp gain and 10wtq gain over the 9-5 on pump and alky. Now just for comparison purposes, does anyone know what the stock turbo vs the 9-5 yields on pump and alky with the same mods generally?

Id say the gains from stock to the 20g9-5 on alky would be at least 20whp.. I say that because a lot of 20G/alky guys Ive seen have run 121-124mph which is on average about 3mph faster than majority on stock turbo. Thats just my opinion though based on track times Ive seen by searching around.

This info seems pretty accurate to me also. I guess we could come to a conclusion that a stock block/head/TB with a LT turbo car running alky should yield about 40whp over the stock turbo on the same setup. Does anyone think 40whp is really worth $1700 bucks?

If I could bolt that turbo on my car and make 418whp on pump gas (basing off my 378whp stock turbo pump gas dyno), Id say itd definitely be worth it. However, I dont have the money or time to be the guinea pig to see if it really does. Its not always right to just add hp on top of hp, so technically it might be… 30whp, so take that into effect also.

Referring to if 40whp at $1700 is worth it, well if youre on the stock turbo and maxxed out… then your next mod has to be turbo upgrade which more than often is A LOT more than $1700. That is why however, this should be a mod done to FULL bolt on stock turbo cars that are using the stock turbo to its potential

i dont know why everyone keeps worrying about the number any turbo puts down to the ground. you all need to look more into the power band the turbo's are making and decide on how you want to use your car.

All you guys with a size complex are free to start your own thread... this has nothing to do with discussing the LT, and your posts/comments are being deleted... be warned you guys need to stay on topic!

Ok cleaned up a little...

If you want to talk about why "bigger" or "OE sized" turbos are better, or why you have to "boost brake" a big turbo to beat one of these off the go, start your own thread. With the TME, WR, 20G-6, and 20G-5, it has all been beat to death.

If you just want to bicker amongst yourselves, use the PMs or even better, burn up your own bandwidth and use your personal emails.

If you want to continue to discuss the LT turbo, have at it guys!

BTW Buschur also has threads about his other turbos... feel free to post in them, but not about the LT

Hey! I dont think this turbo will be worth the $2000.00 asking price.

It's good you changed your post... because it had nothing to do with the topic. So you want to post about the merits of different turbos? Start a new thread and post away! You stated your opinion about this turbo appropriately above... have you any personal experience with THIS turbo to add to THIS thread about THIS turbo?

I'm looking for a turbo that will spool between 3500-3800 rpms, as I want to drive my car on the street, roadcourse and the Dragon(Deals gap). I'm somewhat confused, I talked w/ Nick and he stated that this turbo should be capable of producing 500 whp.
What's the max TQ & HP that it can put down in a very linear curve starting in the rpm range referenced above, up to 7800 rpms? And this turbo wont work on an 05 for $1700 w/out the install kit @ $250 + 720cc injectors, it would likely be around $2250 or slighly higher, correct me if I'm wrong.

PM me... we can discuss it if you feel the need. However, this is what the thread is about, and you can cuss/discuss this turbo all you want without vendor bashing/going into other "bigger" turbos and their merits. However, I'd wait until people get them installed and down the track before you rip too hard on it! You never know...
