Please critique WHP numbers/MODS.

Hello guys. Look I have the following the MODS... work 269 cams, work throttle body, K&N drop in, DC sport catless DP, Invidia N1 exhaust, and an ACT 2900 clutch. Well my car is tuned/flashed and the boost is set at 22psi. I made 284 whp 290 wtq on a Mustang dyno. I have only ran my car once ( only pass ever in a AWD car/evo) My past track passes was on a FWD boosted Acura Integra GSR over a year ago. Well I ran a 13.001 at 107 mph with a 1.899 60ft.

I thought I'd atleast see 300 whp with my MODS. I am over 300 whp on a dynojet right (plus 10%) Debating if I should ditch the 269's and buy GSC 280/272's but I don't want to throw away money here.... I also have a Megan o2 housing and 10.5 hotside not installed yet. Please guys, tell me what you think I should do here regarding replacing the cams. Although would 280's actually make that much more power than 269's with the same MODS?

My goal is 320 whp on a Mustang dyno without changing turbo or meth injection. Any ideas, thoughts, or advice is appreciated.

Thanks.

I think the first thing I would look at is your tune.......you should be trapping much higher than that with those mods. I had a TBE, MBC @ 21psi, and an intake.........and I was traping the same as you!

You should be making more hp than that, and as mentioned, it's probably in your tune. Dynojets read pretty high, so I wouldn't put much stock in them. Granted, we all like to see huge dyno #s, but I'd personally rather see more conservative #s.

I personally think you should be making around 305-310 whp on a Mustang dyno.

Get a AMS or Brushur I/C and upper and lower I/C pips and you should be good. Ohh don't forget the Flux Compasitor. If you have Doc Brown or Marty Mcfly tune your car it should go pretty fast in the local mall parking lot, but only when being chased by Algerian terrorists wanting there Plutonium back.

Definitely a good idea on retune

Do yourself a favor before you retune and check for a boost leak. Then install new plugs if you haven't recently. I had old plugs and was experiencing misfires.

Also it wouldn't be too prudent to do a compression check and vacuum gauge test on the car to see if there is any minor issues

I would assume a boost leak or your tune is out of wack. I trapped that with a turboback...

Why are people telling others to get a manual boost controller.
It's like they think it's the only option.

Get an electronic one. They're more adjustable and can serve as a boost gauge as well.
My favorite: Blitz SBC

Why pay 90 bucks for a manual boost controller. You can buy them on ebay for 15 bucks.
If you spend the money, get something worth it.

As far as your whp ratings:

Don't listen people who say "definately get a retune"
Most of these people have no clue what they're talking about.
My bet is that 90% of them have never tuned a car.
Don't take advice from them.

You'd need a retune if your Air/fuel ratios are way out of whack.
Your ratio's don't all of a sudden change.

You could have a boost leak.
You could have a faulty knock sensor
It could be a bunch of things.
Without more info, you can only guess at what the problem is. You certainly can't be sure.
