Tranny screwed

I was driving to a budys house and the kid is a type s acura wanted to see how fast my car was, so like an idiot I get on it and when I shift into 2nd gear it was really hard to get in gear. It wouldnt go into gear so I just went to 3rd and cruised, when I went to downshift at the next light there was no 2nd or first gear, it was gone. So now I have no 1st or 2nd gear and I had to drive home with only 3rd 4th and 5th gears. Is my tranny blown or can I get those gears repaired? Has anyone ever heard of this before?

locked out?

Maybe you just bent/snapped a shift fork. It seems probable at this point. Your tranny would be making many ugly noises if you shattered gears. Take it to a mechanic and get an estimate or the dealer.... if you dare

sounds like a clutch issue dude, kinda weird to just get completely locked out of nowhere. try putting it at idle or maybe with the car off. that or shifter cables but i cant see how they would get messed up

I had the same thing happen to me where I was locked out of 1 and 2 but all it was a little metal clip for the shift cable thing. I just replaced it and I was done cost me like 50 cents. Not sure if you'll be as blessed.

We were running 130ish in my buddy's sti and he went to grab 6th and grabbed reverse. after that it was like revers just wasn't there. Like it was gone. Didn't go in reverse or anything like it was never there. He ate every tooth off the gear.

does your shifter feel loose? if not, you most likey broke the pin that holds the 1st/2nd shift fork to the shift rail. this happened to me in 3rd/4th
drain your fluids, and the magent should catch the broken peice.
it is a fairly simple repair job. you can even buy the roll pin from the dealer.
i think scott at TTP has rebuilt these trannies before. ask him
