Monster Sport Evo VII Air Duct Fitted to USDM Evo IX
#47
i wouldn't mind cutting up the upper radiator portion of the bumper but the hood? i broke my front brake air guide last nite (ran into a deep pothole and broke of the tip of the air guide) and I was hatin!!! imagine me cuttin up that hood if I hated breaking my front brake air guide!!!
but the mod looks good. i would just round out/smooth out the edges of the hood instead of putting rubber on the edges. I think it would oem.
I wonder how much would rain affect the filter...i'm sure it wouldn't do much damage but I wouldn't want any kind of damage to the air flow sensor.

What kind of update are you looking for?
The car is running great the temps at nite over here in zona are in the mid 30's
My car is a 'weekend' car only with just under 5k miles on it, it only drinks race gas, and runs 30psi all the time. so to me the car is hard to compare to others, but I COULD feel the extra power the cold air makes with my Works Drop-in.
My buddy was next to me on the road and he said... "when you took off all I could hear was the intake sucking in air, over your engine and exhaust!"
When I put my hand near the grill by the duct I can feel a slight pull when I hit the throttle.
and a noticable "shhhhhhhhhhhhhhhh"
I love the mod, I was very scared to cut my hood and had lots of second guesses, but now that is done and running great, I 150% happy with it.
I am having pro pictures takin tomarrow of my car, I will post the pics soon after that.

But on a serious note I think you would have to be traveling sort fast to force rain or any water up and through the intake. I think rain would just hit the back of the opening of the duct, mist up alittle and then most would fall out. IMO.
Also thanks for all the kind words guys oh and to the haters thank you too!
wait till you see the pro pics tomarrow, the guy taking them is one of the best

otherwise a few drops or even a few cups will get vaporized in the turbo, in the cylinders and get pushed out the exhuast pipes as some water injection.
