The downside being the chance of losing an oil pump, engine failure or improper oiling to the turbocharger on a BB unit will usually require the replacement of the CHRA, instead of a simple rebuild. I run a GT series Dual BB turbo on my personal car, i could care less about a couple hundred rpms of spool, response is nice but not needed on a drag car, the main reason i went with this turbo instead of something journal bearing is i know it will be able to handle abuse like anti-lag, high boost, etc and last a hell of a lot longer than something journal bearing.
thanks for explaining it

Please can someone chime in that has a BB 50 Trim. I would like to know if the boost tapers at all on the topend with one of these units. Pretty much could this turbo make power all the way up to 8k (with no boost taper)? I would greatly appreciate the feedback.

I would say 50trim for pump gas, and a 35R if you plan on meth or race gas. I opted for the 35R because I have bigger plans for the car. The 35R has lag but it is tolerable. It gives the car a more linear feel to it where as the stock turbo was very peaky and hyper active.
