50 trim or gt35r

ok well i was thinking of getting one of these kits but i hear negative and postive stuff about them... i was just wondering witch kit is best for drag racing on a stock 2.0 bottom end and on pump gas only. Thanks for your help guys!!!!I am really stuck and dont know witch one to get...

How much horse power are you looking to get? 50 trim for drag racing. Quick spool and still puts down good numbers

50 trim is what you want for pump gas only. You will need alky on top of the 35r to make it shine around 27 28 psi. But best all round pump gas turbo is going to be the 50 trim.

WOW this must be the 4th 50trim thread in 2 days. i bet there will be 1 more befor the nite end's. lol.

im seeking a 50trim kit by early spring time.

Bb, i have heard that the bb turbo last twice as long if not longer than a traditional style turbo

+1, i'd prefer BB for better response and longevity. it only initially spools about 300-500 rpm sooner, but has better tip-in for throttle response and keeps boost up easier between shifts.

evom has all sorts of neat little features for your learning pleasure. One is called the search function. I would recommend you use it. It works similar to google.

really? i have heard journal bearings will last longer that BB, but apparently the BB has a little bit quicker spool.

anyone confirm this?

i am almost positive it is the other way around. Someone correct me if i am wrong.

Not to mention the durability of the bb CHRA compared to journal bearing CHRA. The BB will handle abuse alot better and last longer. You can't go wrong with the price of the non bb's but dont' think your getting the same thing or that a bb turbo isnt' worth it..."

I have seen plenty of journal bearing turbo's crap out rather early while others have lasted a long time. The Dual BB chra's will handle ALOT more abuse and punishment. I always suggest an upgrade to something GT or a BB chra if the customer can afford so, atleast something with a 360 deg thrust bearing. The downside being the chance of losing an oil pump, engine failure or improper oiling to the turbocharger on a BB unit will usually require the replacement of the CHRA, instead of a simple rebuild. I run a GT series Dual BB turbo on my personal car, i could care less about a couple hundred rpms of spool, response is nice but not needed on a drag car, the main reason i went with this turbo instead of something journal bearing is i know it will be able to handle abuse like anti-lag, high boost, etc and last a hell of a lot longer than something journal bearing.
