cat delete=failed inspection

I'm sick of being given a hard time by my dealership and such saying they wont pass me on inspection because of my exhaust (no cat) here in NY state. I'm not willing to change my whole exhaust system or go back to stock just to pass inspection, anyone else run into this problem and what did you do, or what do you recommend? I'm not due for an inspection for a while (spring) but I'm just curious. Thanks in advance.

just put a high flow cat and call it a day man.
The few extra hp with a testpipe is not even worth it IMO not to mention the penalty fee if you do get caught running a test pipe.

Throw in a high flow cat.. or be sneaky and weld on the heat shields of a stock cat.

FYI if you grind the bolt holes you can put a stock cat inline with your system..

is it the check engine light or the physical part that they are given you a hard time with?

Do you not have a cell fix? I know in Texas they don't actually look under the car. They just plug it into the OBDII and as long as the check engine light isn't on and the O2 readings are within spec then they will pass it. Usually they don't look under the car unless they have a reason (i.e. Check Engine Light or O2 code)

WTF ??? Are you seriously mad for an inspector to fail you because you have tampered with an emissions part (removed the catalytic converter)??? You are lucky they did not report you, fine you, impound your car, etc.

Per the other recommendations get a High Flow Cat....I have a true 3" Ultimate Racing Cat and it works great...

Um, you're breaking the law. Why should they pass you?
