Curious what would happen if you used the S2's instead of the S1's, on the same set-up.

Curious of specs for these cams, particularly the S2's.

2006EBPIX -

That would be great. Be sure to get a couple of before pulls with the car tunned before you install the cams and retune

Power is all in the profile, ramp rates and lobecenter. As little as 1* change in the lobecenter of a camshaft can drastically alter its power capability. Take the HKS 280 profile for example, shift the lobecenter from 110 to 112 and all sorts of interesting things can happen.

I see interesting, So basically these are straight drop in cams without cam gears? This is crazy how much power the S1 cams made over the 280/272 set up!

Yes straight swap no cam gears .

And what else is amazing is how much harder my car pulls with the S1's over the old 280/272 combo .

If you use the S2 Cams with the EVO IX Turbo would it make more power over the S1 Cams?

ok so I'm going to always run the stock turbo and the most I'll do is the FP green upgrade for the stock turbo so which cams will be better suited for a setup like this?

SVT2Evo,

Where do you feel the most difference in the cams going from the old 280/272 to the S1's?

Very curious on this...

thanks,

Tony

More power on the top end ! The car pulls the whole way no to redline versus before it felt like it would stop around 6500rpms .

nope. at least under the curve you wouldnt. peak maybe a touch more with the S2, You will have a faster car running on S1 cams than S2. the S2 cams need a bigger turbo. the S2 is a 500+Whp Cam pushing a 3076 turbo or GT35 and GT37 owners need the S2 cams.

GgreyEVOIX S1 cams are where you want to be.

Greg...any head work required for the S1 cams? any milling for the spring pockets required? how hard/easy is it to install those cams along with the supertech single springs and retainers.??
