i have a quick question
this are the specs on the new IX cams
The Evo 9 S1 cams are just awesome! The cams are suited to the stock turbo and valve train. We have made the gains and are super excited for these to be released next week.
Spec’s
Intake, 268 advertised duration 217 @ .040 with a peak lift of 10.8 lift
Exhaust, 260 Advertised duration 208 @ .040 with a peak lift of 10.3 Lift
my question is the following:
this set up will work best with stock turbo
how about if i decided to add headwork to the mix, shall i just purchase the new SC1 cams for the IX or would the SC2 work better if headwork and stock turbo is to be consider ?

I think it's important for you to go back to your customer and confirm which of GSC's Evo 9 cam offerings he has. There are currently four:
280/280 (out for a couple of months now)
S1 (replaced the 280/280, were released a few weeks ago)
S2
S3

Well I'm completely happy with my GSC's. These are the 280's (replaced by the upgraded S2's) on a 50 trim at 20#'s of boost on an Evo 8 w/93 octane pump gas. This is on a DD dyno mind you, which equates to roughly 400 whp on a dynojet. All this at 20#'s of boost. The GSC's are good cams. I can't see how they could lose 90 whp to some other cam. Yes, the 9's are different, but unless they somehow got the intake/exhaust swapped around backwards (can you physically do that with the cam sensor?), there's no way they're giving up 90 whp.

thats the boost tapering off. we lost 3psi of boost from peak to redline.
as far as David’s questions.
These are a new lobe design so you have no experince with them. There are 1 set of S1 cams in a car and 1 other set in a customers hands in the US until tomorrow.. S1 is designed for the stock turbo. S2 is for a GT35-37 Turbo. And S3 is a custom cam that offers centerline movement to appropriately compensate for RPM range and turbo sizing. The Lift and Duration of the S3 is as far as a 4g cam should go with out putting undo stress on valve train.
This is in the thread many times. but i know how reading 10 pages of forums gets old. so there you go.
the old 280/280 mivec is a mild cam works on stock turbos and small upgrades. If you lost 90hp two things need to happen check the install and the tuner needs to adjust the mivec settings accordingly. also very likely the exhaust cam was installed off of the 112degree centerline or the intake was install incorrectly causing a serious loss in HP. If you have any questions on how to do either of these I will be more than happy to spend the time to walk you threw it.
Also just for everyone’s information I have not had one phone call from a customer claiming to lose 90hp. If I did have a phone call like that I WOULD WANT THAT SET BACK TO MESSURE. Hell if it is was one of my dealers doing the install I would more than likely pay them for there time to do it.
