Clutch Problem
Coming home tonight, went to shift from 2nd to 3rd at about 6000 rpms, clutch pedal went to the floor and did not come back up. Nor did the clutch disengage so I could get it into 3rd. I managed to dry shift into 4th and get home. When at home, could not see anything out of the ordinary except the clutch pedal all the way on the floor. I pulled it up, it took slight force. Now it won't go down at all. What could this be. It will be going to dealer tomarrow, again, but still under warranty. Thanks

It happened to me, maybe your clutch is done. any sign of slippage? maybe the Throw out bearing went south also. not allowing you to engage/disengage the clutch??? Just throwing stuff at you bro, just grab some ideas till someone with the right answer comes along.

GOT THE OLD PARTS BACK, FLY WHEEL AND PRESSURE PLATE WERE COOL BUT THE CLUTCH GARBAGE!!!! I DONT SEE WHY MITSUBISHI DOESNT FIX THIS ONGOING PROBLEM!!!!

I had a 3000GT that did this same thing. The Evo and 3000GT have the same slave cylinder. The pressure was bypassing the larger seal and filling the boot with fluid and pressure. Didn't leak anyplace, just filled the boot and then seeped back into the cylinder.

It could be a number of things...
THE same things you are saying happend to me... to rule out some possibilites...
what happend to me TWICE is that the clutch hardline busted. its the line going to the slave cylinder. just reach down there and if you feel break fluid. then that means that it was cracked at either end..
this happend to me twice and i know 2 other people it has happend to so that could be your problem!

1. my stock cluth went out after 12,000 miles. and i only raced it like 10 times at the track.
as far as your problem it could be a few things. here is a few things to check. Check the slave cylinder. see if i bolt came out or broke. IF NOT check to see if you have a busted or bent clutch line. BUT if those two things arent it then you will more than likely have to replace the clutch. ITS a pain in the *** but worth it. just remember the one main rule. REPLACE THE THROW OUT BEARING when you replace the clutch. I have an Exedy twin disc racing clutch. I love it, its worth the $1,500 for it. if you have a shop nstall it it wil run about $800.00 to $900.00 to install so you are looking at about $2,500.00 plus tax

You are really in a no win situaton here buddy. It can be plenty of things if no sign of slippage or burnt clutch. Most likely 95% of the chance is that one of your clutch cylinders either went bad or came loose. Check that first. Than if nothing check all your lines. Everything is good from their than I say check the trans make sure nothing has happened to it such as blowing a hole through the casing or anything like which is very unlikely. Every that checks out ok than buy a new clutch. Highly recommend a exedy twin or a act depending on your budget. I know some people who are vendors on evom that can get you good prices just shoot me a pm.

It sounds like the pull type release bearing disconnected from the pressure plate. This is more likely to happen on the factory clutches from the first couple years before Exedy added a second wave spring to the pressure plate. I am not sure if you can simply reattach it since often the snap ring gets damaged in the process.
