the upper radiator hose placement on the evo8/9 is far to close to the hottest area of the engine compartment.

we datalogged the engine temps @ settled operating temperature on both the EVO8 PWR to the EVO5 PWR, same core just the relocated upper hose placement.

EVO8- 92*c/198*F @ idle
EVO5- 88*c/190*F @ idle

btw, we do stock the EVO5 Pwr radiators(only $449) to accomdate these kits or just move your hose away from all that heat

Happy Holidays and New Year everyone
oh wait nevermind i am an idiot lol i thought you could only use the half sized radiator. then this kit gets a thumbups from me I love the way to the top mount looks.

this is funny, you say take it easy.. i figure cause you are one of those people scared to rev the more liter engine, but then you say unless theres head work... which makes me just think you have no idea what your talking about. the stock head is good to 8k, and a built 2.3 can rev just as high no problem.

Very good numbers for pump. 12:0 on pump is lean but it makes crazy power. My car is running 11.8+ AFRs for over 30k miles now on straight pump gas, and that includes me kicking its *** everyday.

On another note, 2.3+35R is incredible combo. Only thing Id change is you should DEFINITELY rev out to at a minimum of 7500. 8000 is really where it should go.

Do you plan on building the block? I'm still new to learning about boosted cars so bare with me, but isnt the 35R (+2.3) capable of much more power (~600+)? I mean I'm not saying at all that his setup isnt producing as much power as it should, I'm not the one to judge that at all. What I'm merely inquiring about is the efficiency range for the turbo. If you were to keep your power where it is, would it be better for a smaller turbo? If this is a hyjack or just plain misplaced or deserves a "search!" then just ignore it, haha.

his motor is built with a 2.3 the limit isnt his block it's the gas ... it's only running pump gas... and he has decent numbers with pump... with some c-16 he should be able to hit the 600 mark or close to it.
