Buschur's Turbo Choices
Buschur offers three turbos all at the exact same price-
$2,995 BB 50 Trim Turbo Kit
$2,995 FP3065 Turbo Kit
$2,995 GT30R Turbo Kit
The FP3065 is the turbo kit highest on my list right now, the price is very attractive and the fact that it is so easy to go bigger is a characteristic I like. I know this topic has been beaten to death, but seriously I haven't yet found a great answer and I am starting to wonder if the reason why all these turbo kits are priced the same, is because the differences are so small, you'd hardly notice.
Is there really a major difference between these turbo set ups, I keep hearing different things, one spools better, one makes better top end, and it just switches back and forth. Stock displacement, normally running pump gas, is the FP3065 just as good of a turbo as a the 50Trim? Mr. Buschur on his website, seems to have the 3065 rated as a more powerful turbo than his GT30R kit, is this true? Others have said that Buschur's GT30R kit actually makes slightly better top end, but the FP3065 kit spools quicker. Please what are the differences if any?

The 50trim kit I can not comment on as it is not done yet so we do not have any #'s on it or any information. I would still think the 3065 will still make more than the 50trim as Robert @ FP told me when I went to this turbo that the 3065 and 35R will make close to the same power until after 30psi. My car has a REALLY nice top end. (I tested this on a closed course )
As for my outlook on the 3065.... IMO I think it is a great turbo. It is what I personally run. It definately makes more power than a typical GT30 and I would classify as being closer to a 35R than a 30R. My car before went 11.04 @ 128mph with only our stages 1-4, Exedy clutch, AEM EMS and the 3065 kit. My car is FULL weight runs 18" Volks with regular BFG street tires and that pass was also made on a 92 degree day and a 1.74 60'. At that time I was still running 100% stock head, block, ignition, intake manifold / throttlebody etc... and the car dyno'd here on C16 and 29psi at 462whp / 387trq. On straight 94 octane NO alky it made 342whp / 276trq.
Now I am running our special grind cams, ported intake manifold, 1000cc injectors, our modified fuel pump, valve springs & retainers and our J&E drop in pistons w/ crower rods just for added protection. The head is still stock minus the springs & retainers. There has been no porting or anything done. It is not even our full stage 3 block. Just drop in pistons and rods. Still stock throttle body and the only ignition upgrade I have is Ralliart plug wires.... NO coil-on plug or DLI-2.
It now made 398whp on straight 94 and 22psi and 505whp on C16 with 30psi. I did take the car back to the track back in October for the NOPI World Finals. I had nothing but SEVERE traction issues. With a best spinning 60' of a 1.91 it went 11.41@131mph. The car will definately see mid 10's this spring as I am going to be running a lighter 17" wheel and BFG drag radials so traction will no longer be an issue.
I'll be glad to answer any questions you might have.

We do sponsor Robert Fuller (Robi on here) he owns Robispec. He does install work for us out there. He is in Apple Valley. Not sure how far that is from you. He will be able to take care of everything as far as the install goes. As far as a flash goes.... you would need to mail the ECU in and Al can put our Buschur Flash map in it set for you 91 octane or whatever you will be running.

I am very interested to see how these BB 50 trims turn out. The 3065 is sweet but just a little too laggy for a DD for my style. A good friend has this turbo with alky and 272/280 cams and the basics and made around 430whp on Pruven's Dynojet on a 90 degree day at 23psi. He made 497 on C16 at 30psi. It is quite laggy though. But what isnt compared to the stocker I guess....
Nice to see BR coming out with new stuff all the time. I am sticking with you guys when I finally upgrade my turbo.

just a flashed stock ECU thanks to Al. He is going to the AEM this upcoming summer and a custom David Buschur tune. There is a case study on his car on here. I lost the link but his name on here is Kmcconn9 if you want to check it out.
