Did I Screw Up On My Boost Controller Install??

Hey there fella's, I need a little help troubleshooting...

First off, here are all the mods on the car right now..

- k&n drop-in filter.
- 3" TBE (no cat)
- lower ic pipe
- fmic
- HKS DLI-2

And now I got the new HKS EVC 6 Boost Controller.

Me and my friend decided to try and install it today.

We followed these 2 how-to's. Kinda had to mix both of 'em since one is for HKS EVC 5 and the other is for GREDDY PROFEC B.

1. https://www.evolutionm.net/forums/sh...ad.php?t=76558
2. http://evomoto.com/tech_info.php?tPa...634d8b00880240

The reason we used the second how-to is because, they did it a more standard way, where the guy in the first how-to kinda did his own way with certain things.

The boost controller comes with a lot of new features compared to the EVC 5, it also has the capability to tap into the speed sensor, throttle sensor, etc. all in the ECU. However, we did not want to tap into the ECU just yet, so we figured we'd just hook it up like any other boost controller. Turbo compressor housing nipple, wastegate actuator nipple, and tee'd off the FPR line. And we capped off where the stock hoses connected to the factory boost control solenoid, and on the bottom nipple of the intake too.

Anyways, so after we figured we finished everything properly, we started the car.

After a few seconds, the check engine light came on. (even though we did not disconnect the factory boost control solenoid). After the car warmed up, i gave it a little gas (still in neutral).. and the exhaust started popping, so i let off. Tried it a few mins later, same thing. After that it stopped popping, but the CEL was still there. I then turned the car off.

Even though i have no cat, the exhaust has never "popped" before.

All of a sudden I realized that we forgot to plug in the connector plug for the MAF sensor, so I quickly went and plugged it in.

Started the car again, CEL did not go away. (maybe we should reset the battery?)

Now we just turned the car off, and called it a night. Figure we'll mess with it more in the morning..

So now that we're at this point. I'm not sure if something is wrong or not.. can anybody offer any input on this? Or give any comments/suggestions?

Thanks a bunch in advance!

Yea that popping was due to the MAF being unplugged and the car running stupid rich.

Do you guys think the CEL was due to the MAF being unplugged?

And if I reset the battery, will it go away?
