man i can't believe you even tried tuning on 91 octane.... run a tank of 94 bet you gain atleast 20-30hp. 91 octane is too low for our cars, way too much knock. Make a log on 94 and see what happens.... Bet anything thats why it's choppy

Actually, they guy who dyno it use a knock amplifier to listen to the engine, he only hear one or two knock between 3000-3500, I check my fuel computer, because it's a little advance on that range for timing, I adjust it.. and after 3500, it seems everything is ok.. The lamda reads.. below.. seems ok.. 91 is only thing I can get here man!!!!!

mix up some 94 and try it, even the stock rich running ecu knocks, adding more boost is only going to make it knock more. Also, yo ushould be making pulls to 6500 where the peek power usualy is and check for knock there. With that high of PSI and how hot our motors run I would guess there is knock, the octane is lower the what Mitsubishi tells you to run so I can't imagine it running better then what is instructed to use by the manufacture.
A/F and knock are two different worlds, knock in general is fuel detonation it is generated by heat which is usually caused by too hot of ignition plug, too hot of cylinder, which in turns equals an engine "running too hot" My stock 03 EVO run's .96+ volts on the A/F and it knocks on 91 octane, a tuned engine runs A/F around .92

Wing,
Kevin is also doing clothing business, but he will comment later today.
If you did not cancel the schedule with XS Engineering, we hope to see you there.
We never heard of this wheel power dyno...and should of measure at 4th gear instead of 3rd.

Hey, I live in LA county and I have found a few 76 stations that carry 100 octane race gas. What I do is pump about 3.5 gallons of 100 and the top off the rest with 91 to get 93+ octane mix. Go to www.76.com and do a search to see if there are any close to you. There are some that carry the 10 gallon drums of racing gas, but only a few that have it at the pump. I do to one in OC, close to my work, one in West Covina and another in Diamond Bar, which are close to home. All three are actually just out of the way to be annoying, but I still go almost every other day. There are closer ones with the drums, but I would much rather drive a little extra to be able to pump it at the station. The price per gallon for 100 octane ranges from about $4.50-$5.50.
