Case Study - Evo IX Stage II with Alky - stock vs Cosworth Cams

Nice to see the upgraded cams (regardless of brand) are finally starting to make a splash on the IX scene. Great gains, must say the thing that grabs me most is the overall powerband available on the cammed IX compared to what most experienced on the VIII with similar lift/duration. Short of Revolver type setups most cams on the VIII were high-rpm happy. These cams look to have a bit broader spectrum overall which I feel too often gets overlooked. Okay I'm done rambling.

The reason I made that post is the this dyno is reading like crank hp. And i have no idea what new softwear your talking about because AussieImports still has low reading softwear and they are the distribuotr of htese dyno's in the US? So does all the shops here. You would think the shops here would get the softwear first?
Honestly I think you guys are just putting in a 1.20 correction or something for everypull. Which you can do. Just to make your customers happy with big numbers. People liek big numbers. You are not going to see anther dynodynamics correctly calibrated read like this dyno. Ive seen 30+ dd dynos and never seen one read like this unless the correction factor was alterd which is really easy to do.
C'mon al. 400dd WHP on a bpu+ evo? only making 18psi at redline. Get real dude. You guys cant expect to gain as much hp off htese cams as these dynoplots are showing because how high this dyno is reading. Decrease your gains by about 15% and start there.

Well theory and practice are two seperate matters
The following car weighed in at 3,000 with driver with same dyno settings and
went 11.56 @ 117 mph - with the lower power pull
and then went 11.2 @ 120 mph with the higher power pull
This equates to perhaps the fastest USDM Evo 8 with stock turbo and stock ecu on pure gas no nos
I do not really place a lot of importance on dyno figures - however - it seems to me that these figures are fairly consistant with the results at the track
Again - the main issue with the cam comparision is to show the results with and without the cams and measure the difference from the cams - NOT to engage in a bench racing contest

AMS is about to do a back to back test on the Cosi and GSC cams. Then everybody will have results and we can stop this pissing match that has been going on for months about IX cams!

Usually Buschur is pretty good about posting reality... i dont think the guys at AMS will do much different..... numbers are numbers, if a car is baseline 350 and GSC makes a 30 WHP and Cos 35, then whats there not to post ? either way they are selling a product.
