Yeah but in the real world, where your not always driving around 2000 rpm before redline, its nice to go fast.....

If you guys are looking for more response the 3071r and 3076r are available with split .78ar turbine housings...with the right manifold, etc its a different turbo

Not all people want a laggy turbo like a 35r on a 2.0L. Most people don't rev their engines so high when daily driving all the time and not all people want to drag race or do lame highway pulls. Some want responsive turbos for autocross and roadracing. This go big or go mentality is lame.

What kind of setup do you suggest for a 2.0l?

With that split housing a 3071. Full-Race did some work a while back and the tiny overall a/r chokes off the 3076 bad where as the 3071 doesnt suffer nearly as much.

Scorke / John / SLS / Others -- Thanks for actually staying on topic...

I did see the post from SmokinJoe, but it appeared as if his boost did not kick in until 4500+ - 5000 range (from memory)....If folks are seeing peak boost at 4000 with a 3076 vs. 3500 with a IX then that is much better....

Scorke -- I completely agree with your point on the larger turbos and road racing and street driving....I have driven those setups before and don't think they are optimal for either race course or street...

Are you sure about that? Gt35 is getting an a** whoopin' at 4500. Looks more like 7000 to me.

cij911- Drifto run's a split housing, and is one of a few, if maybe the only person running it so if you are really concerned with exactly how it performs I would talk to him.

Don't forget Smokin Joe was using an ATP kit, he bickered with me back and forth, compaired one of my 2.0 graphs where I had a 1/4 inch gap between my manifold and exahust ports to his graph and his spooled up 300 rpm sooner, since getting it all fixed and moving to a 2.3, I know make 20 psi in all gears except 1st well below 4k, ranging from 3800 to 3400 3rd-5th. To ME, it works great as a DD/fun track car combo. No other turbo offers this level of response with a strong top end as well. The closest competitor would be a 50 trim, which again doesnt seem to gain tooo much from race gas, where as with 3076s with tuning you usually see a 100whp/100wtq gain, which is nice.
