On my 03 I sold it with 42k on the stock clutch to my friend and he has about 47k on it now and still no signs of clutch wear. I am anxious to see how far it goes.

Also BTW, I have seen the stock clutches go for about $200-$250 on ebay so you could get one of those and have it installed somewhere else and not be out too much money.

Berserk,
I really don't launch much. I DO however like to hammer it at about 21 mph/3000 rpm (roughly ) and zip through the next few gears. As I mentioned in my first few post, my only hard core launches were not that pretty.

Nad,
Good information, I guess if I do consider the stocker again, I'll have to look other places than my dealership.

[QUOTE=GroundChuck;3822554]I have a 2003 with 76K miles. The clutch is still working like a champ. At the rate I am going, I should be at 80K in late March and 85K in June(ish). I found a few threads on high mileage clutches but I only found a few folks who made it over 80K.

im soo glad that you clutch lasted that long. i have an 03 evo with 25k miles on it and it has 343whp and its my daily car and i take it everywhere with me just like my purse. i never leave the house with out it. lol well i need help on deciding which clutch i want too. later.

since they mention at what rpms you launch?
i have launch my car at 7000rpms multiple times i mean a lot of times i have 16000miles on my car but 15000miles are just of racing mostly dragracing and streetracing and the clutch seems fine i want to know how much it will last cause i do abuse my car when it comes to racing but i dont have it as a daily driver!

I have a couple of friends who's stockers lasted more than 50K miles... one lasted maybe 80K+. They have been to Gingerman and Grattan many times, as well. They don't drag race, just road racing and are fairly good drivers in general.

My clutch is at 45K miles right now and I'm hoping it will last much longer. I've been to Gingerman and Grattan (3 times) and the clutch held out very well. It's my daily driver too. I don't drag race at all, although I drive it hard when some idiots want to see the "E V O L U T I O N VIII" in my trunk.

If I do change out my clutch, I might go with the ACT/Fidanza, but surprisingly... a friend has a Ralliart twin disc clutch that has a much, much softer pedal feel than my stocker. It's weird, but it's true. I did hear the Exedy's have a softer pedal feel than the ACT though.

btw.. pm me if you want someone to install your clutch. A friend has a shop and can hook you up.
