Any stock clutches over 80K miles?
**************
Edited May 5, '10
I now have 150K miles on my stock clutch ...... still going
****************
I have a 2003 with 76K miles. The clutch is still working like a champ. At the rate I am going, I should be at 80K in late March and 85K in June(ish). I found a few threads on high mileage clutches but I only found a few folks who made it over 80K.

I am just trying to plan accordingly so I know when get the clutch replaced (and so I know when to have my research done to know which one to choose). I am currently looking at:
The ACT
or the Exedy
Any input from the high mileage folks would be appreciated (even more appreciated if you have high miles AND one of the above clutches ).
THANKS!!
Driving Style: Fairly spirited, no drag racing, been to Gingerman 3 times (plan to go once or twice a year), 82 miles a day commute.
Mods (nothing major): AMS Custom Tune, AMS TBE, AMS LICP, fuel pump, MR BOV, HKS drop in filter, Forge Unos MBC.
Future Mods: Cams and probably not much more (I plan to drive this thing until the wheels fall off).
Desire: A clutch that will out last the stock one (90K? 100K?) and bite a bit more (I burnt mine bad twice screwing around )
My baby resting in the garage (old summer shot):

Thats a pretty big accomplishment considering most have changed theirs under 20K miles, including myself. How much power are you making and how many times have you launced the car? My stocker lasted for about 40+ launches w/ 340whp.
I have the Spec Stage 3+ and besides the daily drivability, I love it. I think you can't go wrong with Spec Stage 2 for your needs. Its much better for daily drivers and the pedal pressure is better than stock IMHO.

34Turbo,
Honestly I have no idea how much power I have. The only power mods I have are listed above. When I got my Flash and TBE at AMS their dyno was not working that day so they were not able to verify horsepower. As far as launches go, I really only launched hard twice (burnt the clutch both times ........ garage smelled for two days ). Obviously I have not mastered a good launch. I still love to bang through the gears though.

I would recommend the HDSS, I have it.. works great. Pedal pressure, to me, feels identical to stock. The engagement window is a little narrow though

I know, I used to have an ACT on my Evo. It's nothing like stock. Check out companies who actually go through the trouble to change the fulcrum point instead of just heat treating a stock pressure plate. The ACT is a popular choice because it's the cheapest, don't kid yourself
