THAT is a 50 Trim. Any questions?
Matt, 450whp and 500whp are absolute MAXES for the 50trim. Most people will not see that unless youre running EMS and a serious list of supporting modifications. A 122mph trap on pump pretty much isnt going to happen on this turbo. 4GSixty3 has 440whp on his 50trim and is going 119-120mph. Friend of mine with a 99 GSX w/50trim, sheetmetal intake, 280s, lightened and such is going 119.6mph traps. 122mph is not going to happen on straight pump. Curt Brown could probably do it though :-)

Yeah well a 50-trim could easily be a Garrett 4082 with a .94 A/R exhaust housing that wouldn't spool until 5500+ and would easily make 650WHP. Yes, you could call that a 50-trim and be 100% correct. Just because some anus on here called some special combination a "50-trim" two years ago doesn't make it right.

Trim is simply the ratio of inducer diameter squared divided by exducer diameter squared. Almost every compressor wheel in the Garrett lineup is between 48-trim and 60-trim.

In fact, you can get 56-trim compressors in GT30, GT35, GT42, GT45, GT47, and GT60. So calling a GT30 only by the name "56-trim" would be pretty stupid, wouldn't it?

Damn I have seen that power made. On ******* there is a guy running a GT35R on 21PSI trapping at over 120MPH. Maybe it is in the driver, especially with a lagier turbo where if boost falls off between shifts you can lose that top end. I see no reason to upgrade the Turbo unless it can hit over 120MPH on 93 octane.

Evo NY has a guy tuned by Al Via flash making well over 500WHP on a GT35R with 93/METH, so I do think it is possible to get 450WHP on pump with a flash, it is just up to the tuner and hoping that they are honest enough not to try to wring out another 2 grand to sell you the EMS when you truely don't need it. Turbo Trixx Wringed out 420WHP ona crappy NON=BB 50 Trim from RNR with the non equal length header on the OEM ECU 3 years ago, just imagine today with a proper 50 Trim. I would consult Sean Ivey for a tune, I bet he could get 450WHP on a flash. You yourself know that a Stand alone would do nothing for your car right now, and a 50 Trim isn't that dramatic of an upgrade to warrant one either as the MAX is 500WHP.

600WHP, ok get a stand alone

I see what youre saying Matt, but now youre talking about GT35Rs. What they do on pump and in the 1/4 is a different story.

Regarding the basic BB 50trim found in everyone kits today, 450whp on pump gas on a flash MOST LIKELY is not going to happen. Maybe a sheetmetal would help

Either way, the non-BB 50trim RNR kit that made 420whp was on 94 octane and it was with EMS, it was not with a flash. I know because I almost bought it Also, a BB 50trim will not make any more peak power than a non-BB 50trim, what it will do it spool faster, have better transient response and that will translate into a much better powerband and overall feel. A non-BB 50trim is a complete waste and should not be considered.

I was looking at a different one then, it had a UTEC, not a stand alone. Still maf and ECU though.

Either way, if it was BB, it wouldnt have made any more power.

I dont know why everyone gets so upset when a company doesn't have time to respond to a hundred emails a day and run a business. Research takes time and if they spent as much time on the computer as everyone else on this board they would never get anything done. I am sure that they want to get the best possible hp numbers out of a kit so that everyone will want to jump on it. I really dont care too much how well this turbo performs but the quality of this manifold looks amazing and its backed by a life time warranty and that is pretty exciting.

Yeah, that's a great theory, but the car has supposedly been running since January 18th and we haven't seen any numbers of any kind. No dyno sheets, no track times, no data logs, nothing.

I'd say 6 weeks is enough time to make one or two posts. Especially if they want to sell some of these kits they have so much time invested into already.

Sure they might not be ready yet, but a quick progress report would sure put an end to the negative speculation and at least let us know whether or not they have abandoned the project.
