yea seems like a high #

i want 400 pump and i will be on cloud nine.

My 2 cents! ! !

To spend the money for that kinfd of a setup is hust crazy! My reasonning is just as stated in this thread earlier, you will only make usable power at around 5500rpm which is way to late. Believe me, I spent the money and took the kit off in 2days. If your gonna go with a bigger turbo and know engine mods it's simple! 50 TRIM BB KIT FROM ams OR SOMETHING!

Before I put on my 35R I might have agreed about sticking to a stocker or smaller turbo than the 35r, but to be completely honest, its "not as bad" as many people think. Its important to be very very clear, and that is, you really do need to have all the supporting mods on the car before you upgrade your turbo, otherwise it will end up being laggy and have a narrow power band.

deadbeatrec, was the 50 trim out of the question from the get go? I don't know NY, but I'm assuming 93 is pump and not 91?

I was in the same situation as you, and decided a 50 trim over the 35R because I don't go to the track, I run 93 pump 95% of the time, and I wanted a car I could enjoy on the street. With GSC cams, I'm at 410 whp (dynojet hp) on 93 pump. I think your goals are realistic with your turbo choice, and a 35R would have been a waste.

The most I have seen was 450WHP on pump with a 50Trim on an Evo VIII with just 272's. Who knows what's possible with a stroker, head porting, even more agressive cams and higher lift, port matched intake manifold, MIVEC, standalone....etc. I am not saying 500, but it has to be more then 450

can we limit the wish list to a stock block and head like the OP has? Sheesh, strap a 250 shot on and call it a day with your logic.

not getting testy, just trying to keep it real. If, if, if ..... if my aunt had ***** she'd be my uncle

OK, maybe getting a little testy with all the 35R comments made about pump gas and how they're such good turbos. All it takes is a comparison of the 50 trim/3076 vs. the 35R compressor map and one can easily understand that below 400 hp, the smaller turbos will be in a much better effeciency range (turning that energy into boost instead of wasted heat) compared to the 35R, and will make a much better street turbo at 23#'s. The only time the 35R will better perform will be at 400hp and above. So the question is, at what rpm do you go above 400 hp? Below that crossover, the smaller turbo wins. Above it, then the 35R wins. Can you drive above that crossover point to the piont where it's "worth it" on a daily basis? Yup, I guess I am testy!

i went with the 3037S turbo. im looking into tuners now because i want the most bang for my buck when tuned. i live in ny and 93 pump is avalible, they did away with 94 a few years back. i think i know whom i want to tune it, if he is willing to do it, but im still open for sugestions. i ruled out the 35r for a few reasons,

1. lag and my driving style
2. the dude never got back to me
3. i dont want to have to deal with the blow through maf and crap
4. i have 780cc injectors now and dont feel like upgrading
5. with the kit i got, i can use my equal length ex. mani.

so when it gets installed and tuned i will post numbers and everything else to let u all know how it is.

I have no idea why you guys do not get considerable more power from these big turbo kits on pump gas. yes they suck at spoolup, but once they start to fill, they are much faster than a stock turbo on pump gas. we constantly see gains of over 100+bhp with 35 equivalent turbos on pump gas (forged engine standalone vs ecutek stock turbo). the one thing I notice is that the cars in europe run much jigher boost on big turbo / pump gas cars with forged engines (close to 2bar)
