I should be running 116. I do have ocassional knock events on the aem logs. I am close to the edge, but an occasional 3.4 volt spike ime calling engine noise. Its never at the same place in the log. So far ime right. Nothing had blown. Ime not sure about this being an HKS turbo. It is stamped garrett on every part. It is a .63 ar. Full-race suggested the .82 (??) but i chose not to. I have been thinking about a 35, but the car runs so dang good, i just havnt messed with it. And this turbo will hit 30 psi in short order. Thats eye opening!!!

My tops is 459/430 on a Mustang at IA performance. Thats 100 octane 25psi and 2 degrees of timing at peak torque. Knock correction pulled 5 degrees!!! I have never been able to run past 25 due to ignition issues. I just got a DLI2 and installed it, but not turned it up yet. Was going to today and everything i own froze last nite. It hit 20.......in AZ people die at 20.............Ray

My AEM logs boost low i think. Defi says 27 psi, AEM log says 25. Who knows........

Hey Deadbeatrec. If your serious about getting a kit lmk, I might be in the process of selling mine as I am not going to have as much free time or cash in the future and am thinking about selling it. It is a Vishnu Stage 3 with the 3076(3037) if you want to call it that, complete with DP and intake and all, lmk...pm me for questions or dynosheets.

That's not true. You could have a GT3076-13 and it would have a bigger compressor inducer (55lb/min) then the biggest 3037 which would be a GT3076-12 (52lb/min). HKS made a 3037 that only had a 42lb/min 76mm wheel in it back in the day.

The 3037 is just HKS terminology. HKS does make there own covers and backsides for their turbo's that are unique. The big difference between what HKS does and Garrett is the backside. HKS loves to use T25 inlets and T3 outlets. Actually all Japanese manufacturers like to use much smaller inlets then outlets. My old RX6 turbo had a inlet that was roughly the same size as a T25, and a huge outlet. There theory is to increase the pressure and heat inorder to make the gasses move faster. Thus, decrease spool up times and have better response. The bigger outlet helps remove the excessive pressure.

I know someone is going to say that the HKS turbo's suck on an EVO and I agree. IMHO, the standard backsides they have are not optimal for the EVO. One advantage to the RX6 turbo's were the number of backsides (5) that are available. Unfortunately, you could buy a Garrett turbo for how much a replacement RX6 backside is.

so what is the 3037s that ATP sells? anyone know? it has a 2.36" compressor side and a 2.16 turbine side i think.

stright from the ATP site " Dual Ball Bearing GT30R Turbo assembly with T3 style housing with T3 inlet flange w/ 4 bolt style exit. T04E style compressor housing with 4.00 inlet and 2.00" outlet. Very Good response turbo for 4 Cyl applications. This turbo has a flow capacity of about 500HP. This turbo would be the same as HKS GT3037. The GT30R turbine housings with 4 bolt exit are made out of ductile Ni-Resist iron (has a nickel content of about 38%). This material is much better at withstanding high exhaust gas temperatures than regular cast iron.

Turbine
-Wheel: 60mm w/ 84 trim
-Housing: .63 ar, .82 ar, 1.06 ar
-Maps

Compressor
-Wheel: 76.2mm w/ 56 trim
-Housing: .60 ar
-Maps"

It is a GT3076-12. Which is the same as the new T3 version of the HKS 3037.
