I'm not sure if anybody is still reading this thread, but I'll give this a try anyways. I read almost this whole thread, there was some great stuff in here. One thing I'm curious about though. This post is a little bit old now, and I noticed that there is now a Greddy Type-RS BOV with an EVO-VIII kit. Would this single spring "mod" still be necessary or would this BOV pretty much be "plug and play" since it's advertised for the EVO?

I went with the single spring mod and very light preload works fine at 30 PSI boost for me.

The 1G "ears" are longer than the Greddy Type-S. HTH.

I have the GReedy RS and installed it as is from the factory(bolt's right on), works fine except in fifth gear under light boost. It surges like crazy, which is not good, I messed with the adjustment screw in and out, the tighter I turned the worse it got, I backed it out and it still surged again only in fifth under part boost. I am going to do the spring mod and see what happens. If I have no luck it's back to stock for now or maybe the APS, BTW this is on a IX with 900 miles.

Remove the light spring and put about 3 turns preload on the heavy spring then sit back and wait for the diaphragm to wear out. It will work great till then.

Keep both springs in it so it will function correctly. This whole thread is over three years old and has since been determined to be a POOR modification.
