dumping the clutch....

I know I know its bad to dump the clutch...my 2 step is set at 6k and I've accedently dumped it maybe 2 or 3 times becuase of getting nervous and what not, I know how to slip the clutch as well and I'm going to from now on but....the times I did dump the clutch the tires broke loose and I was paranoid about damage but my neighbor told me since I broke the tires loose it took a lot of strain and pressure and damage away from the drivetrain...I hate launchin this car becuase its not what it was for but when you drag its hard not too...so basicly...in your guys opinion was damage done with the tires breaking loose? If so what takes the most damage AND when u slip the clutch are and u can smell it a bit...are you only damaging the clutch instead of anything else? Thanks

i practically do the same i do quick dump on the clutch and as long as your tires brooke loose then nothing wrong will happen to the drivetrain thats why when i drag race i put more in my tires so they can spin more easily so that i dont break nothing i have been doing 7000rpm launches and my car still has the stock clutch on it and i have 16000miles on the car almost all the miles are from racing it cause is not my daily driver.
dont worry here is a link to some clips on how japanese drag there evos:
http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=PEhL3K6pdeU here you see the times they do in the 1/4mile

http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=sBka-8ViOEU and here you see how high they rev it almost 7000rpms and they do a quick dump.

yes to much wheelspin wont get you the best time in the 1/4mile but i have seen in the drag forums people using 40psi of air in the tires and reviving to 6500rpms and getting a 1.7sec the 60'

dont worry enjoy the car
